Welcome

With the arrival of our latest family addition, Isabelle Rose Kaeslin, on 6 September 2007 and Andreas Edward Kaeslin on 17 August 2009, I decided it was time to join the blogging age in order to better share family photos and stories. So if you have wandered across this site or received the link via an email, I do hope you enjoy what we post. I promise to try and update regularly so keep coming back often.

Look where we went today...

The MATTERHORN!

It was really neat. A bit of a long train ride but even that was fun. A great way to travel with a baby for sure. She slept, looked out the window and played. It was so easy.

I think these old buildings in Zermatt are really neat. I cant figure out exactly what they were for though, as they look to small for people to live in. Quite possibley for animals.

Downtown Zermatt. Quite a few people but made for great people watching. We had lunch at this restuarant that was on a corner with big windows which made it really easy to just sit and watch people walk by.

Davis took this picture from the train on our way from Visp up to Zermatt. Its a glacier. Hard to appreciate how amazing it really looks from just a picture. The blue of the ice is alot more visable in person.

This is on the train from Visp to Zermatt. On the way down, Isabelle was sitting in Ueli's lap and could not stop staring at the train conductor's red vest as he stood talking to the people across from us. As soon as he turned to walk away, both of her hands went straight out and grabbed the bottom of his vest. We just laughed. He was all smiles as well and turned around to say hi to her. She grab his finger and just kept staring at him. Was really funny.

This was on the train from Luzern to Bern.

We set Isabelle's carry bag up on the seat in a way that she could just sit there on her own and play and look out the window. Of course she also slept there. Worked out really well. That bag has to be one of the best buys we ever made. We can use it for so many things.

We decided to make a real full day of it, so instead of just changing trains in Bern we got off for an hour and walked around. A very pretty city.

Fasnacht(Carnival)

Davis dressed as a Gypse and will for the rest of the Fasnacht activities. What does that mean? Well today was the last day of school before a 2 week holiday during which is Fasnacht (Carnival), so at school they all dressed up and had a party in the afternoon. Over the next 2 weeks there will be various parades here as well as in other towns and people (adults as well)
often go dressed up.

These are same pictures again just in black and white or sepia actually. Softens them somehow a bit. And I just have fun playing with them. Tell me which you prefer. Just curious. I can never decided. I really like them both ways and with digital cameras and computers it is just so easy to try differant things.

More smiles :-)

Staring very seriously at her sister who is getting dressed up for Fasnacht. She LOVES to watch Davis do stuff. I can totally see her just idolizing Davis as she grows up. One of her favorite things to do is to sit in her little seat in Davis' room and watch Davis dance and sing around. And we all know that Davis does that quite alot.

Slinging it.

Just one more option for hands free baby carrying. A friend of mine gave this to me quite a long time ago and I have just decided this week to give it a try. She seems to like it and it is really easy to keep under the stroller for those times when we are out and she wants to be carried a bit. Not something I would go walking with or to the store with if I knew she would be in there the whole time. I find the baby bjorn more comfortable for that.

Lenzburg Castle

Unfortunately it is only open from April to October but it is still nice to walk around. Easy enough to go another time as it is only about 30 minute drive from us.

Watching TV

Look at that smile!!

...Oh ya, and the rolls of baby fat. To cute for words!! She had actually just spit up all over herself and we were int he middle of changing her clothes.

Isabelle laughing

Ok, finally managed to catch a bit of laughing on video. I am usually enjoying her so much that I totally forget to grab the camera. The little boy from downstairs was up playing so I asked him to quickly grab the camera this time.

Isabelle's favorite toys

Very serious business here. These are her two favorite toys. As usuall not the best video but it is what we got. At least she did not start just staring at the camera. LOL

Verkehrshaus (Transportation Museum)

A rainy grey Sunday, so what do you do? Well we decided to go to the Transportation Museum in Luzern. We have these great bank ATM cards that allow you to get into several museums in the country for free which is great. I think it costs about $35.00 pp otherwise. We have of course been a few times before but there is always something you did not see and even looking at stuff again is quite interesting.

This is an actual jet that use to fly for Swissair. The same one we are standing inside of below.

The only time you will ever see Ueli smiling on a plane.

Ok, this looks silly, I know. They have this news room set up and you can sit at the desk with the background just like it is on the news here and then see yourself on the monitors. We were actually trying to get Davis to sit there but "no way!!"

And then the little one who it was all just to exciting for! :-) As you can see, we have turned her around in her stroller sometimes now so that she can look around better. She loves it!!
